Once again the Nimbus Fish Hatchery and Lake Natoma will host one of the most successful wildlife festivals in northern California. Thanks to coordinated efforts from federal, state, and local public agencies, and private organization and sponsors, this event has become an anticipated annual community celebration. The Festival has music, art, a salmon barbecue, and educational activities and exhibits focused on the incredible king salmon migration. More than 21,000 people attended last year. To make any festival a success, organizers depend upon a corps of volunteers. The Salmon Festival is no exception, and that's why we are asking for your help again this year. We need volunteers to assist with set up, children's activities, shuttle bus service, exit surveys, information booths, food service, retail sales, and clean-up. In additional to the weekend event, volunteers are needed in the weeks prior to the Festival to help with publicity. Saturday and Sunday are divided into shifts from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Submit a form to pick your activity. But what's in it for you? You'll receive free event parking, a free drink coupon, and a Festival lapel pin. We also encourage you to come early or stay late after your shift to enjoy the many Festival activities. It'll be a great day so come out and join the fun! More questions?
